ABOUT US

Hi everyone!! My name is Bárbara Batista and I live in Fortaleza – Brazil, me and my family do volunteer works here. My boyfriend
Vinícius also likes being part of volunteer projects.

(We have a community where we help. My parents and other volunteers help by giving food, and we and other young people help in the events taking care of children, reading and doing crosswords with underprivileged child and even selling raffle tickets to help church and community)

Today we both are involved in AIESEC’s project which is the world’s largest youth-led organization , developing the potential of young people across 128 countries and territories and offers the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today through volunteer work.

THE PROJECT

We were selected to do a volunteer work in Tabasco-México which consist in promote the sustainable tourism in Tabasco, where it has a wide range of ecotourism, biodiversity ,fascinating array of cultural attractions and outdoor pursuit like wide rivers, deep lagoons, seaside villages and a large archaeological area, BUT STILL  attracts few foreign tourists.It has enjoyed anonymity as a tourist destination. We will be going to divulge them through social media (exploring and documenting everything in blog, youtube, facebook …) giving tips for travelers and about the place. In addition to the social work of promotion of the state, we’ll also visit orphanages, play with the kids, show our culture and bring a little joy. We are here collecting toys and dolls to give to them.

The problem is that the money we have saved is not enough, mostly because of the plane tickets. We are about to lose this opportunity because the trip is already for June 26 and we need to speed up the procedure. That’s when I heard about the crowd-funding platform
and here I am with the last hope we have left.

In addition to spending in the city itself, we have to pay for the flight tickets. They will provide us stay in a host family for 36 days approximately and we will have two meals on working days and partial help with transportation to work.

Together we have already spent $ 834 that were the application fee for AIESEC and $ 214 with one of the passages. We have together $ 700 to spend.

we need $ 950 for two plane tickets (Brazil – Mexico) and one return ticket (Mexico – Brazil).  (is the cheapest price we found. It is a temporary promotion)

We’ll be there about 45 days. We estimate an average of $ 500 for each of us to spend with the rest of the food, transport, housing and part of the prices of tourist tours that we will be documenting,not counting the price of the equipment we have to buy.

I am a law student and Vinicius is environmental and energies engineering student, together in this work we would also do researches related on environmental law and the impact that tourism cause in the environment, bringing to our reality the preservation they have with the environment.

So, helping us:

– We can help the city of Tabasco promoting its tourism;

– We can bring joy and smiles to orphans (we promise to post pictures of them );

– Encourage our research on environmental protection;

– Allow the cross-cultural understanding, which is the key to live in a peaceful world. Our world’s future depends on the ability and willingness from each other;

* Since we are receiving your help and generosity, we thought we’d make an Ebook with photos and tips of what to do in Tabasco for you!

Please help us to have this unique experience, it will be a great learning experience and we hope to share it with everyone! You can make a difference and I thank you very much for any support you offer us! Please share our cause with anyone who you think may be interested :)
